Ineos Chemicals in Debt (is IA safe?).

Perhaps their Ineos Grenadier sponsorship deals will be more US-centric going forwards.

The sponsorship of Nice, Lausanne, Tottenham and Man Utd football clubs coupled with NZ Rugby, F1, IG Cycling, NN Running, specific athletes and the Americas Cup must be a big draw on the group finances.

Sticking my neck out a bit here but I wonder how many Grenadier owners are avid soccer/cycling/F1 fans, especially as their biggest market seems to be in the US. If times are tight I don't blame them for re-considering where to spend their marketing budget. Perhaps their Ineos Grenadier sponsorship deals will be more US-centric going forwards.
Correct. But stopping before the contract ends leaves a taste of "unreliability".

That makes sense and I'm surprised it wasn't ended when they bought as share in Man United. Silly sponsorship of Tottenham when you own Manchester United
Except Tottenham is a better team.

My household are big fans of soccer and rugby, and I'm a lifelong cyclist (although I'm a rider not a watcher).

Why sponsor and then pull out prematurely, clearly the company is too extended?

Or pragmatism. We don't know the nature of the contracts or the original motive for entering into them and if there are not already break clauses, Ineos will have to pay something to be released from them.

Being harnessed to an unwilling partner is never a good plan.

I think it's important to remember that Ineos is a private company majority owned by one man. That guy has interests and whims, and its clear everything he does is done under the corporate umbrella. So he takes interest in sport, auto, etc and the Ineos brand gets slapped on some spandexed backsides.

But individual interests and whims swing both ways. It's a mistake to view Ineos' decisions through a public corporate lens, like a team of executives with the backing of a board, making collaberative decisions to boost brand and shareholder value. That is super not the case with Ineos. It's way more old school personal business empire operationally with all org charts flowing up to one man at the top with 60% ownership of the entire company.

Thats why I think by far the biggest risk for Ineos Auto is the health and personal whims/interest of one relatively elderly man.

We don't know what input his son George has to these decisions, as I believe he is the current chairman of IA.

I bet he's in better shape, both physically and mentally, than 90% of the people around here despite them being 15+ years younger...

If you want or need to know the intimate details of how the company operates, read the book. The ethos is illuminating and refreshing.

Feeling offended??
Nah its just a weird thing to post, either fetishizing an old rich guy you’ll never meet (who looks like a corpse btw) or insulting random strangers on this forum or both. Straight up weirdo behavior. Plus it's boring boomer 'hurr durr ya'll internet ppl are fat and dumb' humor circa 1998

Is this a car forum or a sassy knitting circle?
Actually it's a tactical crochet collective.
