Hi
when taking delivery of our Grenadier a couple of weeks ago ,we could not test the transfer case gear level as the infamous pin had come out
The dealer accepted that it was a fault and the gear lever would be replaced
Dealer says they have now received the £BOWDEN cable" ?
Is this where the problem lies ?
No diagram or photo to explain what the problem is ?
Next : dealer apparently very busy, could not replace the faulty part before January
From your experience ,is it a difficult job to replace this "Bowden cable ? Could I do it myself ?
Your advice would be appreciated

Not sure why you’d need a new cable? Unless it was damaged or stiff? The pin fell out of mine and I fixed it myself, I posted a how to somewhere on here… not sure if I can find it.. I’ll have a go at looking..

Sounds like there were 2 problems if he needed a Bowden cable, unless it was very stiff/damaged. " very busy" sounds a lame excuse. When my dealer told me to get a cup of coffee ☕️ and biscuit from his coffee maker while he fixed it, I didn't have enough time to finish my coffee before it was done. ( although to be fair I did manage 4 biscuits)

Many thanks,Eric
I ,too, wonder what the cable issue might be
I have no idea what this cable does ,no parts diagram available

The selection into high/low and CDL is cable operated, so it sounds like there were defects on the cables. I do know when new they are stiff to operate but do " bed in" with use.

From what you know, do you think this Bowden cable is the one you can see when you lift the passenger side seat to see the battery/fuse compartment?

That cable in the battery compartment, from memory is the hand brake cable. The Bowden cables are underneath.
