Morning everyone,

Last Saturday i took the plunge and purchased a 2024 Trailmaster in Brittannia Blue with White contrast top. Already started with some updates like Buzz Sliders, I/O Throttle control, Fox ATS steering, Trailer Brake Control, Homelink, and currently researching WolfBox vs Gentec LCD rear mirror. I have really liked the Grenadier so far and have only had minor issues (AC not working initially that fixed itself after turning off the vehicle for 5 min and has not returned), but no door seal leaks yet...

hope to keep this truck for years to come!

Madison - was supposed to be in La Crosse next weekend but ended up having to travel to Asia for work. Congratulations on joining the mayhem. If there’s any chance you fly fish, I might be seeing you out on the Driftless. Enjoy the Grenadier - I reserved mine the first day reservations were open, and placed my order as soon as they started taking them - and was able to pick it up this Spring. Have absolutely been loving it. I’m sure you will, as well.

Hey Cheeseheads! I actually don’t like that moniker but grew up in WI so I feel I can say it without offending lol. Grew up in Eau Claire but now in Phoenix.

Got my Grenadier about a month ago and absolutely love it!! (well, aside from the speed assist annoyance. Can’t wait for that patch!)

Get in your Spotted Cow!
Drinking too much Marzen. Downtown and the campus area should be avoided if you are driving.

Getting a lot of weird looks in town. I feel like I am wearing a trenchcoat or something.

I’m in my bunker. All the dairy farmers are descending on Madison for the World Dairy Expo - put them together with the UW kids and that just spells trouble

Relaxing now.
Love the Leitner rack and sidekick - I’ve got the Leitner HD bars and Sidekick. How do you like the Owl side runners? I think they look good but not so sure they’re the ticket in ice/snow with the round tube and tread. But I thought “if I lived in Arizona, that’s exactly what I would do.”

I was hesitant to go with sidesteps until I saw them at Owl’s shop in Mesa on a couple of wagons. I use the steps almost every time entering and exiting the cab now. Eibach 30mm springs and 285/75- 17 KO2s.

We did a day trip with a couple of AZ members here and did experience some scraping while negotiating a technical rock section in a narrowing wash. Driver error. They were fine and I would trust them. Wait until the Moab trip AAR from other members.

I bet they work great - I just think the rounded tube is asking for trouble with snow and ice on the bottom of my boots. It seems like a design more suited for Arizona, but looks awesome.

My wife is from Madison and she says that you could just kick the buildup off. Do NOT take my word for it.

Hmmmmm . . . PERSONALLY, I’m just using the OEM side runners - if/when I switch, it will probably be for something with a sharper edge and more tread grip - like Buzz. As someone who mucks around in river guac and snowshoes, “knock your boots off” just seems to leave a little wanting. If I didn’t have to worry about it, those Owls look so clean (not in a bad way), though. Maybe I have to change rails twice a year along with my wheels ;o). Or maybe there’s a summer IG and a winter IG

Wow - no loyalty. Just casually going over to the dark side and hanging out with the FIBs. I see how it is. Love the build BTW - the Leitner rack is so solid and clean, along with the Sidekick, and those Owl runners - same. You really nailed it. That is a super clean build - all business, but done really well. I was in Chicago a couple weeks ago at a stoplight on Michigan Ave; some guys one car over were asking how I liked it, and what it was like to drive. I said I loved it but it wasn’t really made for downtown driving - but offered to give them a demo and drive over the Tesla Model S in front of me. They all cheered.
