Hello everyone,

I’m Mike from central Arizona and I’m interested in the Grenadier as a reincarnation of the classic Defender platform. I currently drive a well built 4Runner and I promise that’s the last you’ll hear about that!

Cheers from Arizona

No worries - a lot of owners here also own (and love) Toyotas. But the direction Toyota went with the LC is the reason why we got so excited about the Grenadier.

I put 12,000 miles on my new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser first edition and really got tired of the over refinement. I was having issues with the electric motor and hybrid system. I was learning for the analog utilitarian look of the Grenadier and I finally pushed the button on it and I’ll never look back. It’s been an amazing vehicle.

I wish I had more confidence in the ability for Grenadier to get it together. As impressive as it is, and how it came to market quickly, there’s still enough chatter re leaks, no shop manuals, support issues etc. to keep me on the sidelines. It isn’t quite a 5th gen 4Runner as of yet (reputation wise). But I plan on keeping my eyes open for it all to jell and be the amazing vehicle we hope for.

BTW, I totally agree on the Prado. If we (the USA) could get a 70 series I’d be all over it. So the Grenadier is the most interesting vehicle stock available to the US by far. I’m pulling for you all, the pioneers!

I've had a host of Land Cruisers (76 series, 80 series, 100, 120, and 200) and loved them all. I also had a 2007 Defender 110 and liked it a lot, but didn't trust it to get me there and back like I did my land cruisers (too many mechanical malfunctions). My Grenadier with 16,000 miles is the first non-Toyota I've had that I don't stress about it not getting me there and back. I've had some issues with it , but none that left me needing a tow.

Central AZ is a lucky place to be a Grenadier owner. Not only do we have tons of great nearby trails and open land to explore, we also have a dealer now (I bought mine in Seattle) and we have Owl Vans who is very committed to developing aftermarket parts for the Grenadier.
