Heated Windshield is there one????

Move that decimal over one spot. Negative 25 F is equal to negative 32 C
OOPS I haven't used Fahrenheit much/at all in the last 50 years and google dropped the negative sign off the front. 25F is -3.888889. Celcius is so much easier to understand. But that is a can of worms we shouldn't open here.

It is quite funny how everyone say's they want a back to basics utilitarian 4X4 with no frills or fluff.....and suddenly folks are demanding heated windscreens and power fold door mirrors! Which is it to be? Sounds like some of you would be better buying a new defender?! ?
Old Defenders had a heated front windscreen.

I apologise if this information has become muddled in dialogue with my Events team or the CS team.
Who was this?
The button you have highlighted from the brochure / website is for the Windscreen Demist function rather than for a Heated Windscreen – I can see how it is represented can easily lead to a misunderstanding. The logo / button for Windscreen Demist is universally used by Manufacturers.
Seems odd to then have two items doing exactly the same thing; and what does the rear do ~ is that also a demister or an electrically heated element?

No heated screen this from Ineos
Thanks for your note – the Belstaff Edition Grenadiers come with Heated Windscreen Washer Jets as standard but a Heated Windscreen is not available. These are incredibly expensive to fit & to replace should the windscreen get damaged. …
Not really expensive with my LR Defender and quite easy to fit. Even if you wish to replace your standard windscreen it will not cost more than 300£ and a afternoons work.

LR heated windscreen

The Grenadier windscreen is a simple flat screen also, it should not cost a fortune …. if it were fitted.

I suspect the zone symbol for the windscreen will simply direct the air-con to the windscreen. The front window heating button when pushed will direct the air con to the front window and put the fan on max power to clear the front windscreen as quickly as possible. The rear window button will operate the electric element in the rear window. This is the same as I’ve seen in VW, BMW and Mini.

Is it certain that the Grenadier will not have a heated front windscreen and if not what is making it so expensive to insure and in some cases uninsurable? On my insurance quote from Adrian Flux windscreen cover was not available option and on my quote from LV ,windscreen excess was £20 for repair and £190 excess for windscreen replacement. Any ideas folks 🤔

The grenadier doesn't have a FHW, it is not identified in the order confirmation unlike the HRW and heated washers. I suspect that this is a latent patent issue. Ford owed the patent for the HFW and as a consequence all brands owned or previously owned by Ford have HFWs. Hence BMW, FIat, and Mini didn't.

My defender 2.2tdci had a heated front screen that was fantastic but again a big excess for windscreen replacement which is why I’m curious about the Grenadier windscreen excess costs

What’s making so expensive to insure I wonder

Hi.
Did we advise you that you had no windscreen cover on our quotation? Was your quotation not based on Comprehensive cover?
Regards.

I got given hell on instagram once for posting about a balmy -40 morning in Ontario b/c I didn’t specify Fahrenheit or Celsius. Of course most internet word warriors hadn’t ever bothered to look up the conversion for -40 C. . .
Ha! This is the only temperature in C that means anything to me! Some day, perhaps after the apocalypse, we will switch to the metric system in the U.S. - but I'm skeptical. We might need an event more dramatic than that to change

Because it is new with no risk/repair cost/driver data to base a price on, therefore they will default to a higher insurance group. Since I believe that you are Scotland based I would call in, in person to your local NFU office. Okay if that's not local phone the local NFU ( not the call centre number) Just because it is cheapest doesn't mean it's the best. You only find that out when you make a claim. I have to declare a conflict of interest
the farm, contents, farm public liability, animals, horses, cars et al insured with the NFU ( vast premium so should be invited to their Christmas lunch and shoots. One of my neighbours was also a director)
