Has anyone re-geared the transmission after increasing tire size? I have upgraded my tires from 265 to 285 and i was wondering if i should re-gear or not.

I spent the last 2 days putting it in manual when I needed to stop, at any speed, and letting the tcu(?) force a downshift. It only happened once. if it was the tcase, it would be purely mechanical in nature and I would think whole lot easier for me to replicate. You're right though, in the sense I'm not keen of wasting thousands on an experiment only to get no results because I was in the wrong location the entire time.I don’t like the 3-2 clunk either but I also don’t know if it’s the gearbox or t-case.
You would want to regear the axles not the transmission. Not sure if there is an option for different ring and pinion gears.Has anyone re-geared the transmission after increasing tire size? I have upgraded my tires from 265 to 285 and i was wondering if i should re-gear or not.
I assume you mean you went from 265/70/17 to 285/70/17 ? If that's what you did, that's only a ~3.5% difference in circumference, so the impact to the drivetrain should be minimal and doing a re-gearing for that would be unnecessary imho.Has anyone re-geared the transmission after increasing tire size?
