This is not only my favourite picture but also the first picture I took of a Grenadier and the first time I had seen one in the flesh(metal)
I had ordered one but had never seen one.
I flew 4,000km over to Perth to take it for a test drive finally
I walked out of my hotel at 7:07am to go to my Perth office for the day and there she was parked in my hotel car park
The Ineos guys were staying in the same hotel as me.
Yes that is my reflection in both the headlights taking this picture.
It was almost exactly my specification and she filled the car park spot like a beast.

I was late to the office
First time I saw a Grenadier .jpg

Just make it the love is +1 not the like
now I can't ban love, but we can ask people to not spread it around on this thread and just keep it to a cordial like.

In the same vein, any other response like an eye roll etc won't be counted.

likes only please.

I use the Like to track which posts I have read
That way I get notification if a new post has been added to a thread I am following
Here was me thinking that you were the friendliest guy in the world. ;)

The like function is primarily used to promote positivity, quality content and to indicate your agreement. At least thats what the blurb says.

To keep track of threads you follow or are interested in the check the watch/unwatch button at the top right of the page.

Then on the what's new tab you can select the filter you want on the right hand side and save that as default. If that ,makes sense.

As soon as I log in I see all threads I have not read. So I always now what work is on my desk. I do not have to like every post to get this functionality.

As to the photos: Not only Grenadier related, but whatever good photograph one has taken?

I bet the "only one vote" approach will fail.

My suggestion: Allow multiple votes and count them all.

EDIT: Have just seen that this has already been agreed. Good.

you probably are right @emax

At least its coded so that you can vote for each image only once.

Thumbs down will not be counted though, and any other reaction will be ignored.

this is a shakedown until the end of the month. working out the kinks and 'rules' so to speak.

One thing, do we want this monthly or longer intervals? I've seen some great photos and think monthly would be great, but thats just my opinion. Also monthly would enable a super cheesy calendar to be produced for each year!

I'm sure there will be a winner for this one, but I'd hold off until April for the real thing.

I would make a suggestion @Stu_Barnes - maybe put a set size/size limit on the images. These contest images could suck up a ton of server space and I know that more storage equals greater cost!

Agree.

But in a Photo Contest, the pictures suffer from too small formats. I have mine scaled to a horizontal width of 1600 pixels which is imho a reasonable size for 1920px/full HD monitors (and above). It's size in bytes is less than 1/10 of Steve's Glanusk (though his one has of course much more details).
