Firle Place

i've got the same tyres and they were fast approaching their limit in that clay. last night's rain will make anymore drives even more impressive without M/T's on.

Reading and writing on the forum is hard work. So I took a shower. ;-)

Now I'm back at the computer. But we'll likely have a walk with grandma later - though with her, it's more like creeping along. 🐌

My terrace - well, that's really a good place to be:

Is there a castle or a palace in the background? Maybe the lord of the castle also has an off-road track like Eastnor Castle. Would you ask and book us in for a visit. But maybe not until the new year. Otherwise we'd have to walk the track with our 1:18 models in hand.😄

You still have a grandma to go walking with?
Not surprised she walks slowly.
My grandma and mother are both long gone.
That picture looks like a great place to live and enjoy a slow evening walk.

This is "Schloss Lichtenberg". And that's exactly where Vera & Christian live, right at the foot of this castle. From where the picture was taken, it's exactly 2.9 km as the crow flies.

And no, there is no offroad track up there. But a campsite below which ends just at the garden fence of Christian and Vera. Yan could certainly plough through it with a Grenadier - but you will not win friends with it ;-)

Yes, she's 92 yrs old. But getting weaker rapidly, though she still behaves like a commander (and actually is one).

She's my mother in law. Quite a good one.

My grandmother made it to 96 and was still having a glass of stout every night before bed.
She also sat at the head of the table

Just to be clear: she is the grandma of my son, my mother in law. My own grandma died maybe 50 yrs ago.
