Finally got a grenadier

Finally picked up a ineos trail master after 2 years of pondering the idea of owning one. Absolutely love the thing. Collected it down near London and drove it all the way back up to Scotland.

I do have a few queries though

How often should I do a long run to allow the dpf to clean it's self ?

How hot is the gear box ment to get as mine was at 87 Celsius and the actual center console was getting warm, is this normal?

Normal operating temperature and engine speeds will keep the dpf clean.. low engine rev and not letting it heat up, will not. Your temperatures seem fine for a long run..

Perfect just the answers I was looking for , never had the center console ever get hot in my previous car so was a bit worried

Congratulations on your Trialmaster purchase.
The DPF has a mind of it's own and will do a burn when you least expect it. ( late in the evening, public car park, anywhere it will frighten the s..t out of the public.)
That temperature is OK if you had a long motorway run from London to Scotland

Last diesel I had was around 10 years ago which did have a dpf , the car it's self is great much better on the road than I thought

On the dpf burn, most vehicles seem to require a 20 minute run at motorway speed on a monthly basis.
However, Ineos seem to have been a lot more clever than most. When it is ready to burn, it will just do it.
As above, accompanied by a very loud fan.

That's great , was told from the sales guy that it would need a good drive and as he put it open it up a bit when driving

Thanks, I was curious what that noise was, was not the therm fan.

Ah awesome. I’m near Huntly and there are a few blokes in the Shire and the city.

G&L Marshall in Huntly are the only service dealer up here, they’ve been great for me so far, right beside the railway station too so pretty handy.

I have seen one or two grenadiers in my travels around here

That's one of the reasons I went for the grenadier since there's the one in Huntly and also dingwall, which is a bit far but the misses has family up that way

Pretty close then , just waiting for some snow that is ment to be happening! , yeah it seems that marshalls are pretty good reputation which is nice .
I looked at ineos when they came out but the closest was Edinburgh so having places closer was a big.factor in me getting the car

Not really much here anymore compared to even 10 years ago. I think macrame and dick got bought out recently, i bought a Jimmy from them about 3 years ago from them in Inverness
