I just took possession of my brand new Trialmaster today. Unfortunately, there are some quirks I need help with.

Current Status:
- I can only lock the doors (with the key fob and/or with the lock door switch) when the drivers or passengers side doors are open.
- So, I can open one of the doors, press the key fob or the lock switch and the doors will lock.
- If I’m standing outside (doors closed tight) and try the key fob, the doors will not lock.
- If I’m inside the truck (all doors closed tight) the door lock switch will not lock the doors.
- The key fob unlock button works regardless of whether I’m inside/ outside.
- The door unlock switch works at all times.

What I’ve tried:
- The obvious (from what threads I could find), slamming all doors and hood. I’ve done this multiple times and nothing changes.

So, although I’ve found a workaround, this doesn’t give a lot of confidence in a 100k vehicle with less than 15 total miles on the odometer.

Not great. I would have thought the dealer pre-delivery inspection would have picked that up.

G'day Grunner
I had a similar issue in my first week of ownership. It turned out to be that my bonnet/ hood was not closed/latched correctly. I had been showing mates the engine and had not closed it properly. give that a go.

I had similar problems. I wasn't slamming the hood hard enough. Now I drop it from shoulder height.

But I think you have a different problem if I'm honest.

My Trialmaster's dealer PDI included an 16 mile "test drive" to a prospective buyer. I had to wipe kids footprints off the backs of the drivers seat. Doom on you lazy dealers.

Before you go back to the dealer make sure you check the lock settings in the infotainment screen. Cancel the current settings then re- enter it again.

The info screen - shows if a door/bonnet is open.

No point slamming already closed doors.

Agree with Eric check the Settings menu!

Thanks for the replies. I’m located in Utah and purchased the truck from Mossy Grenadier in Houston Texas. I’m very frustrated with this experience and would not recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from Mossy Grenadier in Houston.

Additionally, there were multiple other warnings right out of the box.

SBR Error which results in a chime every time you start the vehicle from a stop.

LDW malfunction
Driver alert malfunction

This is absurd that a 100k vehicle has this many problems and that Mossy Grenadier in Houston would deliver a vehicle like this. Sure, I can take it to my local Utah dealer but why should I have to?
Hi @Grunner801, Ashton here from Mossy Grenadier in TX. I’m really sorry to hear about the frustrating start with your new Grenadier! I just spoke with our General Manager, Robert, who said he recently had a call with you. Robert and Trevor, our Service Manager (who I believe you’ve been in contact with), are both working to get your Grenadier in top form again.

We're on it - this is a top priority for us. I’ll be reaching out to you shortly as well, so we can keep the communication open and make sure everything gets taken care of as quickly as possible. Appreciate your patience while we work through this with you!
