Door hinges pain chipping

Hey everyone,

Has anyone had paint chipping on their rear door hinges?

You would think the front mud flaps would provide enough protection from road debris. That damage seems excessive, if it is from road debris…

@aldoub I have used Xpel clear PPF on my hinges just cut little strips to wrap around that area of impacts. Jeeps all have this same issue and company cant remember who it is makes precut ones for the Jeep since it has been an ongoing issue. I just bought some of the XPEL clear door sill PPF and cut it down to size to make it work.

This just started happening to mine as well. It’s super irritating. I’m definitely going to need to fix the chips and cover them up.Like mine, I also noticed that you don’t have running boards either. I think running boards would help from debris kicking up.

I've applied PPF on the car but they couldn't apply the PPF on the hinges due to unusual shape , I think after re painting the hinges I'll use this pre cut PPF .

buy yourself a roll of 4-8m helecopter tape and put it on leading painted surfaces.

By poke I mean do they stick out beyond the wheel arches or mud flaps? Running wider tyres or a more negative offset could cause more stone chips.
