Just kidding but they are very similar. When I saw the DG in the sun from a little distance it looks matte black vs shiny black.

Preferably in full sun with the sun over the photographer right shoulder with a SLR camera without filters. I trying to do my best to help DG..

The key telltale difference is how they look against the black plastic trims. Inky Black - trim looks slightly grey. Donny Grey - trim looks black.

Once again. Glad I didn't opt for the red chassis and quite happy with my choice of 17" alloys with White lettering out.

I have that exact colour combo ordered, in the Fieldmaster with the rough pack . Looks great.

I was going to order the black roof and didn’t, however I think with the IB roof it actually picks out the grey a lot more and it doesn’t look as black.

I will still live with mine for a bit before I wrap or don’t wrap the roof.

@Shaky , I think so too. If someone really uses their Trialmaster for what it is meant for, aluminium rims would be really inappropriate for me. But I won't use it as a show vehicle either.

I ended up ordering the black contrast roof for my DG station wagon. Was going to go with the wrap but there wasn't that much difference in the cost. Figured the paint would take more abuse. Yet to know if I made the correct decision or not.

After much hand wringing, I’m now very pleased with my DG choice after seeing it again yesterday. Inside, but under some nice lights. The colour has a lot of different “colours” based on the angle/lighting but it looks very sophisticated. I also did a comparison between the Inky Black and Donny Grey plate and the DG is much lighter in person. Anyone seen a DG with 17” Alloys?? (Cue more hand wringing).

It seems like Donny Grey is a really hard colour to capture. It varies hugely depending on lighting, reflection, indoors, outdoors. Its clearly not black, but a lot darker than my last Disco Sport. Where I live we have a lot of peacocks and they love sitting on black cars. Hopefully this is not a peacock magnet lol!

For a moment there I thought peacock was code for something entirely different.

It’s a fair bit lighter than the inky black imho. That pic above is the DG colour plate sitting on an IB car.
