My idea is to remove the rear seat backrest/s for a vacation trip.

I don't want to remove the entire rear seat installation, just the backrests so that I can fold the remaining lower parts of the seats forward and put a wooden cover over the battery compartment. I could then store a few boxes or a refrigerator on top of that.

Questions are:
  1. Is it even possible to remove the rear seat backrests without damaging them?
  2. Has anyone done this or tried this already?
  3. Is it difficult?

Any answers are welcome. :)

Sorry the search Iain Thomson who does a full rear seat article with videos.
