Design Build Go - Sound deadening the rear of the Grenadier.

I did the rear floor only with dynamat and it is noticeably quieter, at least in terms of drone/resonance. I’d say its worth it. It does make wind noise at highway speeds more noticeable, but thats a more pleasant sound imo.

I still have leftover dynamat so i’ll do more flooring and at least the rear wheel wells. Probably not the rear doors, some sort of foam is probably better for that. I do think be far the best bang for buck is the flat rear cargo metal floor, its like a steel drum and the vinyl on top is not very good noise insulation. I wouldn’t recommend buying materials to do more than that. I was dumb and bought a big bunch of dynamat so might as well use it (and i put MT tires on so maybe it’ll cut a little tire noise as they wear down).

If you have left over dynamat, you could do the floors in the cabin. It is fairly easy to lift the carpet/vinyl at various spots to gain access.
