I got a new software update about 2 months ago.
I went in a long road trip to LA. During this trip I noticed that cruise control deactivating itself when every 30-45 minutes. Can't think of anything it coincides with but suddenly the car isn't in cruise anymore.
No error messages.

You seen this? Any ideas on what is going on?

I've done many long trips prior to this trip and cruise control was flawless. What could have changed?

My cruise control can disengage when the road is turning left slightly (but not right) and there is a slight incline, this combination tightens the steering up slightly and disengages the cruise control. You cannot engage cruise control again until one or both of those things stop.

I have had the same problem many times and reported to the dealer. It will definately happen if ESC disengages and also if there is something amis with the steering. At one point the lock nuts on my steering stabilizer were tightened to the wrong side (by the dealer) and caused play in the steering which also caused the deactivation of the cruise control.

The failure of the so-called "gateway" module is a known issue by Ineos. Several forumites reported on this about a year ago.
Early stages of failure are indicated by intermittent faults including with the cruise control dropping out and and loss of power steering.
I had issues with the cruise control unexpectedly dropping out on a long trip... This appears to have been resolved with an upgrade to S/W 0000689002940 at the 12 m service. Power steering so far has been fault free🤞
