Has anyone else experienced a creaking sound under the truck when hitting bumps at high speeds? I notice it driving on the interstate. Thoughts?

Creaks and groans can be incredibly annoying and incredibly difficult to find. I find that a second person in the vehicle can often focus on and determine the source of the noise. Some high frequency noises reflect on hard surfaces and can be particularly difficult to isolate.
Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, does your drag link or tie rod flop around a fair bit. Meaning can you grab them and easily twist them more than a degree or two.

I have a suspicion the factory is setting the rod ends opposite each other to keep the purposefully bent drag link and tie rod from flopping around. When they flop they can make anything from a simple creak to a significant bang depending on how the rod ends are set.

Just a theory based on what I have seen personally.

The movement of the tie rod with equally set joints is kinda insane.

Do you by chance have lifts springs with the rubberized coil silencers installed? Under the right conditions of temperature, load, moisture and dirt/sand debris they can make a bit of a rubbery squeaking/creaking noise as the spring goes through its range of travel after hitting a bump. Either that or maybe a suspension arm or shock bushing might be the culprit.

Hmm, are the tops of the springs sitting squarely and flat in the yellow/orange colored isolator pads? It might be possible for them to shift slightly under extreme flex. The top few coils of the rear springs in particular can get very close to the side of chassis rail and could potentially rub if they have shifted in the perch.

I get it more at low speeds going over a speed bump or an apron onto a road. Single ‘squeak’. I’ve tried power washing thinking that I had some mud or something up there. I wonder now if I’ve taken it too many times through the power washer car wash. I have a monthly plan that lets me wash it every. 24 hours…. I didn’t do that, but I might of gotten carried away- and it does have and ‘underbody jet’ function as you drive in.
