The Ineos, Iveco and Isuzu are the smartest sizes for expedition vehicles. The 8x8 looks good but is pointless in Australia. The turning circle is bigger then Tasmania, the size and weight is a hindrance and the track damage in soft terrain causes grief for normal 4x4s.SLRV Expedition HQ latest video where they refer to the Grenadier as an Ultra Compact expedition vehicle.

I have always said that about expedition trucks, imagine bogging one? too big to get into many places. The Ineos, Iveco and Isuzu are the smartest sizes for expedition vehicles. Such an incident could easily kill two love affairs at once!I have always said that about expedition trucks, imagine bogging one? too big to get into many places.
I have bogged a 8x4 tanker to the axles and various other trucks over the years during wet season. Hours on a shovel and hours waiting for a loader to drag it out then had to clean and do the repairs and pay the cartons to the crew. Also spent a lot of time cleaning and repairing damage caused by people bogging trucks and machinery.I have always said that about expedition trucks, imagine bogging one? too big to get into many places.
There was a Unimog bogged on the Holland Track a few years ago, not sure why he too the line he did as there was a marked track either side....fortunately for him theres a mine with a loader 25kkms away. Would have been extremely expensive otherwiseI have bogged a 8x4 tanker to the axles and various other trucks over the years during wet season. The cost to recover would be out of most peoples budget lucky there was loader close but that also could of easily turned into bigger problems as most earthmoving tyres are not suited to doing those types of distances without overheating. There was a Unimog bogged on the Holland Track a few years ago, not sure why he too the line he did as there was a marked track either side....fortunately for him theres a mine with a loader 25kkms away.
