Holy shit. So when we stop our Grenadiers at a red light, we're stuck with the motor turning off unless we disable that feature each drive. Okay. Livable.

Well apparently when new Jeep owners stop at a red light, they get full-screen ads thrown in their face. And they can't disable those.

In case Jeep products were ever on your future short list...

WOW, WOW & WOW. That is horrendous, whoever thought that was acceptable needs taking outside to have 'a good talking to'.
How can that be legal/safe/thought of as acceptable .🤯😱
I just couldn't live with that, wouldn't buy a vehicle if it had that no matter how much I wanted it

In a not impossible dystopian future ... any vehicle with a screen could have such a "feature" added in a software update.

Samsung and other TV makers have done exactly this in the past. Did TV owners scream bloody murder? Yes. And yet ... it will probably happen again.

not bought a tv for quite sometime so not sure what they have done. Keep it 'till it's broke, fix if you can 👍
I hate it when we get computer or phone updates and it all looks very different, confuses the hell out of me!

We use Sirius in my wife's car and we both enjoy it. Most of our vehicles over the past 10+ years have had the service and I've never had an issue with them. If an ad pops up on the screen, I will cancel our service as quickly as I can dial the number.

Horrendous but also bloody savage move by Jeep. Why? You want to stop the ads, pay a premium monthly service fee for no ads. The subscription model sucks.

Any monthly/annual subscription puts me off buying. Pay up front and be done or walk away

Especially if these greedy bastards want you to subscribe for heated seats or cruise control. I'd rather drive a Yugo than pay for things like that.

Actively driving or stopped at a light that is still a distraction to drivers. Amazing that rule makers want to limit distraction but at the same time companies push this.

We still have drivers in the US that stop and wait for stop signs to turn green.

If that come to me in a new vehicle sometime soon, I will be driving only old cars thereafter.

With a 50+ year old Morgan, (most complex peice of electronics being the alternator), and a 25 year old Maxda MX5, (it has an ECU and very basic OBD), reverting back to old technology is easy. I can see there being a premium on pre-2016 Defenders as any electronic features are usully confined to the ICE and can easily be unplugged and thrown (forcibly) away!
