Clicking Speed Warning

An answer will come one way or another. If Ineos is 'unable to' (regardless of reason) you can rest assured that some enterprising folks will sell a solution. Either an ODB2/ECU update or something a bit more permanent, time will tell.
I hope so but I don’t think something of this volume will be high on anyone’s list

Its hard for people to understand when you don't have the vehicle yet or have the vehicle with this software. It i beyond a minor annoyance. I paid the money and own it and this is a PSA for those going down the path.

One of the other annoyances related to this issue ... when you are in an area that's not supported by ISA, you get two warning lights. One on the display and one on the warning area in front of the steering wheel. It goes off, eventually but this is triggered every time I pull into my neighborhood and every time I leave my neighborhood.

Again, Hear me know, believe me later.

Yikes!

Does the warning in your neighborhood still popup when you have shut it off?

How many menus to shut it off when you have it saved as a favorite.

And from an old post of mine responding to @Krabby.

So, it is going off at regular intervals if you are above the speed limit- either thru signs or a GPS database?

I can’t imagine taking a highway trip and having it going off constantly. Hell, it might not make it from COS to Denver…

We really need some videos to fully understand this.

Thread 'Picked up My Grenadier!'
https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/picked-up-my-grenadier.12413710/

“ CarPlay > Ineos > Settings > Vehicle Settings > Vehicle Functions > ADAS Systems > Intelligent Speed Assist > Over Speed Warning > Over Speed Warning OFF > Carplay
Note: My startup screen is Carplay

AND, you have to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME you start the vehicle.”

Thanks @Offroad for this.
This crap is/was not wanted when we considered purchasing a Grenadier. Most of us want less electronic invasiveness in our vehicles not more.

I agree. I would really encourage people to go to the IG website and register your concerns- and especially how this will directly affect your completing the sale. I wouldn’t say ‘No’, I’d give them the worse case scenario- “Maybe”. Maybe is a lot harder to manage than ‘No’. I’ve been overall impressed with IG corporate and how the dealers have communicated and set up drives. Sometime you have to hurt the ones you love to have them do the right thing. Let’s not be coy about it, or put up with it. Do it NOW so that it hits their desks first thing Monday, and hopefully they have a software engineer on it right away.

I would say that if I was forced to put a deposit down now, I’d pass.

This situation is complex in this sense - IA has no choice but to include all this crap (they’re following federal law). However, they seem to have done so in an annoying manner that other 2024 vehicles did better. Global vehicle with global software is another layer of complexity to consider, but this will be addressed, it’s a bad as it sounds.

I agree and I hope for a resolution. When your delivery arrives, I will look forward to hearing your feedback. Actually, I hope it's resolved by then!

Welcome to "World Governance" people. Get used to it or vote out the social engineers ! (Assuming you have a vote).

Not stirring but genuinely interested: what are the speed rules when driving on US freeways? I have driven extensively in the US but have never quite grasped what the etiquette is on the freeways, it seems the speed limit is voluntary with the majority of the traffic travelling well above the limit. The presence of police does not cause the traffic to slow down, is there just a general tolerance for moderate speeding or is there a specific amount you can legally go over? The ADAS would very very frustrating in these circumstances.

Flow of traffic and then tolerance to speeding tickets😀. I've always heard 5 to 7 MPH over is usually acceptable. I'm usually 5 over on major roads.

Nearly everyone 'speeds' above the posted limit. Police doubly so.

The 5-7 mph over the speed limit is what I follow. State and Local Police have more important issues to worry about. However, if you are drunk driving and give them shit you will get a ticket for 2 miles per hour over the limit and about 5 more tickets for good measure.

In work zones - the speed of the vehicle in front of you.

On highways I am a 70 in a 55 and 80 in a 65 guy and get passed like I wasn’t moving most days.
That is what I find confusing as a tourist, going with the flow and sitting 15mph over the limit with most of the traffic but then getting passed at light speed on a regular basis. I take it there are no speed cameras, many cars don't seem to have number plates so they would be obsolete anyway?

No speed cameras and for some states (not NJ though) no front license plate is required.

Most people are within 20 miles an hour the limit on highways, on side roads you’re usually under 10. That’s for most people. And just an aside it isn’t the people going 3 miles an hour over that are the problem. But I guess the things that they can’t just put in a 10 mile an hour buffer because that would just sort of legitimize the speeding. You know that is what is going on.

The funny thing is, I had to drive in Italy for the first time earlier this year. As I was dropping off my coworker at the airport, he was trying to explain to me the speed zones, and how traffic tickets work. He never told me what the damage was for the tickets that I did get while I tried to understand what was going on.

Around here, my rule of thumb is up to 10 km/h over the limit is usually okay. And if I'm in traffic and everyone else is doing 10-20 km/h over the limit then I'm definitely okay to just go with the flow. YMMV.

UNLESS you're passing through a small town. Then you may find the local constabulary have less tolerance.

Or if you're in Alberta... where speed limits aren't followed by anyone... Vastly different than Western ON where I've gotten the best fuel economy of my life cruising around at 90kph
