I noticed that there is an opening in the CHF oil reservoir cap, and those green/blue fluid could leak out or are forced out and leave some traces outside.

Does anyone know what that opening is for? is it normal to see some trace of power steering fluid outside of the cap?

not normal for me.

I've changed the OR in the cap with a viton one ø 40,95x2,62. the original NBR is ø42x2mm.

now it no longer oozes

The leaking was not because of the opening in the cap. The reason is a ridge on the sealing face of the cap. You can see it and feel it with your finger. I removed the O-ring and smoothend the face with fine sandpaper, moving the sandpaper circular on the face, as I learned it at vacuum technique connections. Now the reservoir is completly dry.

how did you guys figure this out, it is very impressive

I'd have to assume there is a reason why the cap is vented and would be worried that eliminating the vent might negatively impact something else.
