As an ‘Merican I’ve got a room full, but I tend to find myself gravitating back to the 20” ers, not for the velocity or any other valid but yet mundane reason, if’n yer the one gettin’ smoked, but because a 20” AR is pure ergonomic genius for someone my height. My only thing is, I still have a proclivity for the shorter A1 stock and a fatty grip that gets in the way of a true period correct gun.

I’ll take mine black, please.

Well… it all kinda depends on what you’re looking for, and your eyesight. I’ll just make a generic assumption of a doitall gun that works but doesn’t waste money.

For an inexpensive ar flat top m4 for plinking, a 1-6 primary arms would do just fine. Seriously. I have mostly eotec optics because that’s what I’m used to, which are expensive for what they are, but the cheaper optics today fine. spend all your time in either 1x or 6x and cover everything a 556 will do well.

The one on this gun is a primary arms pretend aimpoint m2 red dot. I put it on as a place holder until a nice m2 comes along (discontinued and improved, I just want m2 on the side of it as that was issue) and to be frank, this, at I think 99 bucks, is as good as any m2 I used 20 years ago. It ain’t like I’m taking it to Siberia and I have to be concerned about negative 40. One doesn’t need a Rolex to tell what time it is.
