I designed and had a "Bed Board" made to fit on the double seat side of the Gren.
It is made from Falcuta Light Weight Plywood which is used in caravans and camper trailers ect. It's 1900mm X 800mm X 15mm and complete with piano hinges it weighs only 11.6kgs. The side profile on my plan shows the hinge setup with the dots. I used the radius to acheive maximun width and softer corners than just right angle cutouts.
I wanted it hinged, it could be one piece or two. It is so versatile hinged and as the U shaped pic shows with the verniers, right angle latches across the corners and horizontals across the middle could make it a workable table or just leave it as a flat shelf. The front behind the passengers seat is supported by the rear seat and a small spacer on the centre console lid. The back half is resting on my old but faithful crates that just so happened to be perfect size. It could easly be the lid of installed boxes or drawers.
The hinges are in place to fold up neatly and to work against folding while you lie on it. It is designed to sleep with your head at the back door so your torso is over the main support plus being able to open or close the door. Then your feet are at the end with the least amount of support which works ok. If you wish my plans are yours.
