Have done exactly the same thing from AliExpress no issues whatsoever and a worthwhile addition no doubt.

Are these AliExpress mirrors decent? It’s possible these are the same as wolf box, just with lower marketing budget.. but also possible that the hardware and software is a much worse than wolf box

It SHOULD be a feature and maybe some later patch can provide for it but I admit I broke down and got a Wolfbox installed. I wanted to be able to have the camera record my offroad fun AND capture plates and in-the-city driving incidents as you described.

Hoping you're right my list of suggestion items to send to their engineers once i hit six months is getting longer

meh.. what good will a continuous stream from the backup camera do, while off roading? You’ve already cleared the obstacle.

I would imagine the purpose is more so for off road maneuvering where you may be moving back and forth frequently because of the super tight turning circle

To enable this functionality in our Sprinter required an aftermarket recoding module, and in our Toyotas required a physical switch and wiring harness to be added (tricked the headunit into thinking you were in reverse to display it at any time)
