BlueSpark really let it rip. Pretty impressed with these numbers.

Horsepower: 286 to 430
Torque: 331 to 464

My worry hasn’t been the engine. There’s TONS of B58s running 550hp+ and living long lives. The ZF tranny used was a little bothersome with its 350ft/lb limit but again there’s many guys running 500+ at the wheels with 50k miles doing it an no issues. I was reading from an engineer who said the real limiting factor for longevity is the trannys ability to cool itself so even the zf45 version was safe to 700nm worth of power. Since it’s not going to be a track car running super hard for 20min straight at a time it shouldn’t have any issues. If there’s any slippage then I’ll turn it down and upgrade the tranny to match but should be good to go. Will be interesting to see how it handles and daily drivability. I haven’t exactly wanted for more power but I can definitely feel it’s at its limit.

Should have it in Wed/Thur and will report back.

I a taking delivery of my new Grenadier next week, and adding more horsepower is something I have been researching quite a bit. Please let us know how your upgrade works out. Very interested. Thanks!

I went with TDI for it's eco setting. 325 hp / 349 pounds feet of torque and 18 mpg.

As an update the BlueSpark has made it awesome. I can really feel it launch and hear the turbo going as it's shifting through gears. I love it and I'm glad I did it. I left it at it's default of 430HP, I haven't done a dyno with it but I find myself punching it every time I get in because I just like feeling it dig down and go. Absolute night and day difference. No fuel numbers as of yet. Haven't had a long road trip to measure.

I do not go off the onboard systems for mpg or altitude, they are notoriously wrong. Are you on a tune? The added torque is key. At 56 mph that is what I get. The mpg drops quickly over 62 mph.

How many miles on it so far? Have you been monitoring the gearbox temp, while in 430hp mode?

Is there also a curve optimized for fuel economy?

I am not sure you are going to see crazy gear box temps or failure until you are exceeding the stock HP/Torque for a period of time.. Driving on the highway or just around town isn't going to do it... Towing something heavy up a long hill absolutely will...
