I've built a CANbus "sniffer" but am struggling with speed. I get loads of packets at 500kb/s, but they are pretty meaningless with only 2 ID reported back. The data does change as the car gets switched on/off and when the car goes to sleep, so does the traffic. I also get some sporadic data at 125kb/s but that's about all. I need to know how many buses are live and what speed. I've got a project in mind, but need to get past the POC first.

EDIT: I've hooked onto the CANbus through the OBD port (pins 6 & 14) and after more research, given the data being received, the CANbus signal is probably going through a gateway which is filtering the data. I now have to look for somewhere to attach directly to the CANbus. Humph ...

So did you order one?
I have an Autophix 9000 already.

I bought it for the Nissan Patrol and I got all the stuff out of the wrecked car (at least my brother and friend did, I just watched them). It is now in the Grenadier.

I guess we won't know if they are Ineos capable until someone has a significant problem or 2.

The video caption says it is. Wording on the thumbnail above says: INEOS Grenadier OBD2 SCAN TOOL.

XHQ website says: Works on Ineos Grenadier and other vehicles

But I do not know what model number it is. It is not on the scanner.

"Works" doesn't mean fixes everything!
OTOH "clinically proven" has people rushing buy the products X, Y and Z 😁

Ric says it does not fix everything in the video. I would rather have some functionality, than nothing. You stand a chance of getting help via phone if you have some error codes when remote.

Well, we're almost half way through "Q3" wherein much promised access to "whatever" is supposed to be made available "whenever"! Until there's a definitive list of what faults are able to be detected and cleared, there's really no point rushing out and buying what appears to be a job lot of generic OBD readers with personalised branding which might only address a fraction of what's required.

I have an Autel tool too, I have been pestering them to bring out the software but nothing yet.
Can I suggest they as many of you contact them as possible to encourage them to hurry up.

Please email: support.eu@autel.com and suggest that you are going to buy a scanner, but you are waiting for the INEOS software to come out, ask them to contact you with a date. If enough of us do it they might speed up a bit.

I just saw this on YouTube as well. How does this device differ from getting a wireless/Bluetooth OBD2 reader from amazon (Vgate icar pro) and an app on your phone (Car Scanner)? The vgate reader and iPhone app option is a fraction of the cost of the one from XHQ, and has worked for clearing any error codes I've gotten so far. I will mention that the codes do not disappear from the telltale after you clear the codes, until you turn off your grenadier and let it fall asleep (<10 mins, after you lock the vehicle), and then turn the vehicle back on. The dealer tells me this is also how it goes even with their Ineos computers, after clearing the codes.

There’s no difference at this point. Your phone software and tool can do everything that is on that YouTube video.

I have the Autel 808zts. The level of functionality if it had the INEOS software would be really useful. As it is I can read faults and some data like emissions sensors data and temperatures, wheel speed sensors etc. not sure if I can clear faults though.

Could you provide specs/links of the devices that have worked for you? This could save me 4 hours of drive time to clear the annoying annual service reminder (a timer that begins on the build date and not on the date of delivery).

There’s no tool available to reset the service reminded. Not a single one. Ineos has not provided the relevant data to any manufacturer. So your SOL on the service reset for now.

I originally had used these for my other quirky vehicle that I own (2013 Mini Cooper S) - it has successfully cleared the fuel sensor code for me multiple times in the grenadier. Again, just remember that once you clear the code, then you need to turn-off your grenadier, lock and let fall asleep (<10 minutes), before restarting the vehicle - then the code should be cleared from the telltale.

I think plenty of others have already posted in the forum what they use as well - if you do a search for "OBDII " it might net something.

As I understand it, for the service reminders, this can only be reset by dealers.

I and a few other have used this one. I have cleared the fuel cap sensor issue.

Part of the reason that I want and can justify the cost of a more advanced scanner is because of my work fleet. It is only around 30 vehicles but it would be nice to know more than what my GPS tracking reader tells me. I just do not want to pull the trigger if we are close to getting something for our Grenadiers.

No automotive manufacturer provides the data (officially) to third party manufacturers of scan tools / service indicator reset tools

I don't think that's a realistic possibility at this point; more than a handful of developers have been contacted by people either on the forum or the FB groups, and no one is interested at this time
