Anyone fitting an UltraHook to their winch?

If we need to leave 250mm, then I will be installing a couple of clips behind the number plate to hold the rope.
Yes been thinking about this will do something similar. Have wondered if you could use one of these either side and wrap it around one side and hook on the other?

Wow that is even better than a bit of sawn off broom stick as you don't need insulation tape to stop it sliding out.
I will definitely get one, and if I have to shorten my winch rope by 250mm or even 1 metre I will, but my feeling is that shortening the rope won't be necessary if you wind the rope in neatly after use.

Now put the donut at the winch and protect it professional. There is enough place in the chamber between winch and registration plate. The screws have poor quality and should be replaced from me.

Looks like a good fit. Which size recovery ring did you choose and what WLL does it have?

41000lbs,
The recovery ring is suitable for 7/16 inch or 1/2 inch soft shackles with 3/16 inch, 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch winch ropes
bought at amazon, 25€

Well, that's carp ..... obviously not designed by someone who'se needed to use a winch very often...
I am going off this bumper ...

Mhh, I am happy with it, I do not often need it, if I need if I am Offroad, and than I don‘t need the number plate. So 90% the winch is well protected behind the plastic cover. If it’s needed, the numberplate is safe in the car. Offroad no police will check.
The bumper is the result of the EU pedestrian protection rules.

@Lollo050968 ~ you seen to have all the winch rope on the drum? I thought you had to leave some off?

I think not for “transport“, I opened it only to assemble the ring, for this I left a view cm rop off , using the lever for the free running mechanism. :)

Does anyone intend to fit an UltraHook to their winch? Happy to hear from users of the hook on other vehicles.

I see someone else has fitted something similar:

That flip up plate is very tidy compared to the UK version I'm expecting 'soon'!

Easy fit when removed the original fiddly plastic part I wonder. Looks like the Oz bumper.
