A very short story, maybe ..!

I ordered the car with Aux setting however opted for premium sound which is why we didn't have the dual battery option when I initially placed the order. The dealer (in Kuwait) thought that Ineos stopped making the dual battery system. A year later I get my car.

I have a winch fitted, few LED lights, two fridges. I needed a dual battery setup, the dealership tells me the following:
1- We can't set it up now since the car already arrived... it can only be fitted at the factory when the order was palced.
2- We have no wiring, mapping, guide, you name it, we know nothing about the dual battery system or how to operates or how it functions.
3- If you decide to play around with electricals and you could literally put your warranty at risk if something goes wrong.

Without any prior research (my mistake) I went ahead and bought a 100ah lithium battery as an attempt to have one of the top electricians install it using a redarc or ctek setup (which are both widely available here). I was told that there is no battery holder or mount and the subwoofer (JBL Nano) will be thrown out, which is stupid! Cant the subwoofer fit somewhere else ? comeon.

Then the electrician proceeds to tell me that the second battery will serve no purpose at all other than jump starting the main battery shall it fails , he believes that everything is wired directly to the main battery, every point, every switch.

I was told to return the 100ah lithium battery that I bought and invest in a jump-starter kit (lol?), there is no way anyone in the region where I live is willing to try and divert all accessories/winch to the aux battery and keep the main one for ignition.

Can someone kindly direct meon what you do in my place? Any advice or guidance ?

First, I would find a new top electrician. Personally, I would dump the shitty 300 dollar subwoofer and put the second battery and new fuse block specifically for accessories wired from said battery under the seat. Ineos chose to set things up this way for ease of install, there's no need to replicate their 1 + 1 system, if it isn't already installed. Had I known what they were doing, I would have just ordered a base unit with lockers and fitted it all myself.

You need to locate an auto electrician with experience in dual battery setups. I would suggest a Redarc or Victron Dc to DC charger between the main and aux battery. More suggestions below.

A dual battery can be added after the car is built. But they are not the same as the factory dual battery option. If you were in Australia I could suggest auto electrician names.

BATTERY BOX
The easiest way to add a dual battery is to use a battery box with a DC to DC charger already fitted to the box. You run cables from the main battery with a 50 amp Anderson plug which you plug into the battery box. Here are some battery box choices in Australia here. You need to find similar providers in the Middle East. I know Redarc has some dealers in the area. I can see 2 listed for UAE.

BATTERY BOXES
  1. KickAss Battery Boxes. My mini review here;
  2. The DRIFTA Battery Box. My mini review here;
  3. Hardkorr Battery Boxes (also marketed as the CAOS Power Battery Box);
  4. Thunder battery box customised by Accelerate Off-Grid Touring, or just the based model Thunder Battery Box here;. Also marketed under the name Drivetech 4x4 Heavy Duty Battery Box - DT-02008. My mini review here;
  5. Thumper Battery Boxes here;
  6. Ardent Battery Boxes here (with 1200W inverter);
  7. Mueller Energy Lithium Battery Box here (no DC to DC charger just a BMS);
  8. BMPRO Power Station (with built in inverter and 12 power outlets);
  9. Baintech Lithium Power Tops in 150 AH and 200 AH sizes.
  10. JTS Power Easy here;
  11. REDARC GOBLOCK (Premium pricing) here;
  12. EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max (you need an EcoFlow alternator charger to charge at the full rate, the cig socket is limited to 8 amps, thanks @Loc Nar);
  13. Entry level ARK PowerPack 3 here;
  14. The whizzbang POWER BOX Premium range here (3 models, 6 colours). Super premium pricing;
  15. Not really BB’s, but Enerdrive-Dometic is famous for their 4X4 Canopy Power Systems. More suited to a canopy on the QM Cab Chassis. I am not aware on any install in the IG. A new level of pricing compared to the BB’s. Tool Box Centre offers something (Redarc gear) as does MW Toolboxes (Victron gear) and Projecta Power Boards (Projecta gear);
  16. National Luna Battery boxes here (2 colours);
  17. Brown Davis DYI powerboard (5 models);
  18. Battery Box for the DYIer here (by MSA4X4) and Front Runner offers something similar here; and
  19. The Power Easy Expedition Battery Box here, with Expedition Weatherproof Lockable Case, DC to DC Charger, AC Charger and Inver

An amazing input Doc! So much information here I am speechless.

So unfortunate I have to resort to a battery box though, I am trying to find a way to fit the 100 ah battery under the passenger seat and relocate the subwoofer somewhere else. I already have the RedArc option ready here except electricians are clueless if once installed it will function the same way as the factory installed, the warranty issue is a big deal here.

Besides a second battery, the aux battery set up just provides the CTEK120. You can orest the battery holder from Ineos. Now the difference between the redarc and the CTEK. The CTEK is a pass through system. This allows the system to pass energy back and forth. So you can charge the second battery and the second battery can trickle charge the main battery. The redarc dc to dc allows energy to flow one way. From the main battery to second battery. The CTEK provides the ability to jump start your car if need be, a problem that you won't need to solve with you jump pack.

You can buy a lithium battery that is size of the Ineos dual battery. By a holder and than have the electrician connect your dc to dc. The next step is to move the fuse you want to run off the aux battery. Then you are all set.

ADVAS great input thank you!

I made the bitter mistake of purchasing a 100 ah battery from Varter Such as this one
and not knowing the fitment before hand. I will need an electrician to work around this it shouldnt be hard to find a space in that compartment. Many folks are telling me to install and secure the battery there without a proper holder, we do have the convenience here to customize one.
