I am about to take delivery of my new Grenadier here in the UK and considering adding additional security such as a ghost immobilizer.

The Grenadier is fitted with " Advanced anti-theft alarm and Immobiliser" is this an a extra over the standard system, and is it any good?

Hi Howard
Not sure if anyone truly knows why the security is referred to a 'Advanced'. It was meant to be Thatcham approved, but even that was withdrawn before the vehicle was released.

No it is not an extra over it is Ineos's name for their alarm. Because the Grenadier has a non Thatcham approved alarm, and in the UK could cause some insurance companies to request a Thatcham approval alarm to be fitted. I got round it by fitting a tracker which the insurance company was more than happy as an alternative to supplement the Ineos alarm. Before you do anything I would check what your insurance company says ( without you promoting them)

I had a Scorpion Tracker fitted to meet the insurance companies small print requirements. It seems to be trouble free but it's fairly expensive to fit and have monitored . I am not sure if a Grenadier has ever been stolen in the UK yet but now I shouldn't be the first. 😂

Just to add that I've had a Scorpion Tracker fitted to mine and if you go for the one off per lifetime monitoring fee, it is a lot cheaper than other trackers, Vodafone for example, who want approx £300 per year, every year.
