So, is it plastic with reinforcement underneath or Aluminium with no reinforcement? Or is it Aluminium with reinforcement underneath? If they are fitted by the dealer as indicated by the configurator is the reinforcement a myth?

I changed my spec when I read it was plastic (even if it is "special" plastic).

There's significant reinforcing under the wing/mudguard/fender...

It is confusing.
I notice the load rating on the wings goes up from 90kgs to 150kgs when they are fitted

I tell myself I’ll be happier drilling through it to mount aerials/tools than I would the nicely painted fender.

It felt to me that there was some sort of reinforcement there.

No mate I didn’t - I had no intention of getting them so didn’t take much notice other than to talk to the IA guy about why they went from purspex to aluminum because in a crash the perspex splintered and became a safety issue.

There’s a couple of ways to find it, but here’s one …

Bottom of website page
Under DISCOVER heading you will see the word Press
Click on it then click on Expedition 1.0
Then click on Content, and you’ll see what's there
