Serious now, ok I will separate the two lists: Automotive (everybody can use this, even VIN wasn't common language for quite a few including myself) and a "slang" or whatever you want to call it, because this is really a pain in the ass for NNESP or Non Native English Speaking Persons.

It's OK, I will not insist on the "slang" ... after all, Google knows everything ;) and you are the boss of this forum (y)(y)🍻

There is (at least) one missing: SRT - single requester terminal.

A particular mode for which an application on a system /36 was programmed.

Don't worry. Absolute insider talk. But it popped up from a long gone memory: We wrote SRT and MRT mode applications - and even most of the very experienced programmers didn't know what it is.

SRT: single requester terminal: One complete copy of the program for each user (i.e. terminal) was in memory.
MRT: multiple requester terminal: A predefined number of terminals could start and share the only copy of the application in memory.

That way, we could save a lot of memory (which was measured in Kilobytes in that time) and secondly control how many user could run the application at the same time.

And the System /36 was one of the most reliable systems in that time. Starting at around 90'000 DM - which was the equivalent about three Porsche 911.

I notice the global "F" word is alluded to regularly. The acronym F*ck , just so we're all on the same page stands "Forum Unified Collective Knowledge"
Thus, to use the expression /acronym "FFS" is actually appealing for a course of action which will be 'for the sake of' a benefit to all! OK?
Well that's my explanation today for my 10yr old grandchild (and @Jean Mercier!) which
I thought might "be of benefit to all" ;)
