I'll be buried in it

Dents are scars that tell a story, each one acquired in the pursuit of adventure! All of mine are battle scarred- the first one hurts- all you think what they cost$$$- after that you remember why you got them to begin with.
We were advised that if you have any damage to your vehicle, that you haven't notified your insurer about, may cause your insurance policy to be void.Dents are scars that tell a story, each one acquired in the pursuit of adventure!
Seems like lots of the strong feelings about the price increase have settled down, which is good. It’s just a truck after all - not worth getting indigestion over!
Insurance of any kind is a scam in the US. @ChasingOurTrunks insurance rates here too will go up if you’ve done nothing wrong whatsoever. My friend‘s car was legally parked and his car was hit. His rates went up AND he was hit with a surcharge. Wtf is the point of insurance if you’re penalized for using it?
One of the Ineos guys told me he insures his current 4WD through Club 4 x 4 insurance.
He said he knows it isn't the cheapest but they cover him for all his accessories and driving offroad.
I just filled in a quote request and Ineos is on their site in detail
One question is "does it have any existing damage?"
The other was "have you done a 4wd training course"
As I claimed an agreed price for the vehicle, plus $30K of accessories, they will give me a call.

It’s a cut and weld repair. No personal harm thankfully just the emotional angst of having to look at the damaged gate post at homeI wish we had something like that here! I just moved to British Columbia and have yet to move my insurance over but apparently everything is run through a state corporation and you’re not allowed to get it elsewhere. I’m not in a rush to change over my Alberta info!
Heartbnreaking. Tough spot to fix, too - not exactly a “use a fancy glue gun and pop the dent out” kind of damage. Hopefully it’s fixed soon and your back on the road. And at least no one got hurt by the looks of a smack like that!
How dare that gate post jump out at you like that! It’s a cut and weld repair. No personal harm thankfully just the emotional angst of having to look at the damaged gate post at home
Hope you find that bastard.I'm about to find out.....

That’s closer to 9% increase mate. But still a lot.Just specced my vehicle up using the new price list. Old price £64,300,00 - New price £70,100,00
Maths not my strongest point but that doesn’t look like a 15% increase.
Is it not the case that the new price includes on road charges not previously taken into account? That’s closer to 9% increase mate. But still a lot.
Saw that also. I now realise the problem for the customer is that the car is actually ordered by the Dealer from the manufacturer. The car is delivered to the Dealer, only then does the Dealer sell it to the customer.I didn't want to start a whole new thread, but here's an example of a price increase that I think most can agree is total BS. To compare back to Ineos - they have not done this (so far) with European customers; the summary of this issue is a man ordered a car and paid a $1k deposit to confirm; he already had selected his options and everything and the car arrived to his spec, only to have a "market adjustment fee" tacked on that he was told he either had to pay or the deal was off.
A bit of this going on imo:

So my dream of getting price protection when ordering (with a traditional Dealer distribution system) is probably not going to work.
Will have to wait and see what IA does about it.
You might be surprised.
FYI forest service roads in British Columbia are public roads and use is covered by regular street insurance. I know this from experience, and in my case included a ~1200 CAD recovery/tow, and what was probably 8 or 10K repair on a custom flatdeck. All no worries, no extra premium for coverage. Also got 1 "at fault" accident/claim without future rate penalty. Or at least used too not sure currently. Auto Insurance has been changed recently to a pseudo, "no fault" set up. Which took away some of the Legal Industry's right to sue to save the Insurance Corp payout $$. (insert :crocodile tears: emoji)
Rates went down ~15%. Old rates were a complaint, users of course comparing other jurisdictions. "Grass is always greener over there", don't like the "socialist system" etc. But I've never had a problem with the State Insurer. And the Public has had decades to get rid of it through elections but haven't. So it can't be all bad.
FWIW you can still buy additional, private insurance if you so desire (out of principle etc)
A woman crashed into me last year.Good to know about the insurance, Painter. I'm still learning sadly the hard way - my truck got backed into in a carpark nearly a month ago and I'm still waiting for the phone to ring from ICBC to get it fixed. Rust is starting to set in; I kinda wish it was a hit and run so I would have just swallowed it and gotten it fixed, but instead now I've started a process with the guy who hit me, and I'm still waiting for the first step it seems, while my truck slowly rusts (which I hate - once it sets in, it's very hard to deal with and makes a proper repair more complex). I'm still hopeful for a positive resolution -- but I can speak from experience that you are right, I don't think the grass is greener in AB given how rates have skyrocketed there when the Government reduced regulations on insurance companies! Damned if we do, damned if we don't!
that's some gold plate service right there. when you need it, you need it.A woman crashed into me last year.
I got her details and gave them to my insurance company
My insurance booked my car in for repair a week later, they had a taxi drive me to car rental place where a hire car was waiting for me.
When my car was ready I returned the hire car and there was an Uber waiting to take me to the repairers all paid for.
I had the car for a week and the only thing I had to pay for was the fuel.
I didn't have to deal with the other person or their insurer.
I didn't have to pay an excess and it didn't impact my insurance rating or premiums.
Not the cheapest insurance company but worth every cent
