Mystery Plug

Hey guys,

We are busy doing some work
On our demo Grenadier and I came
Across this plug behind the plastic trim pieces. It’s located just behind the rear seat in the load space on the left hand side. Anyone know what it’s for?

To connect the flux capacitor?

I think someone previously mentioned it was for the inverter that was/then wasn't an option in UK. Could be wrong.

Yes, it plugs into the OE inverter so that it turns on when the ignition is on or the aux switch is selected.
It is something like 3v so not much use for anything else.

Is 3v enough to switch a 12v relay? The batteries are very near by.

If the wires going into the plug are twisted and only 3V it is likely to be a network data plug like ethernet or CAN which are used to send and receive data for modules. Don't put a higher current load like a relay on it because there will likely be damage to a module or multiple modules/ECUs

Thanks. I should have said "triggered a relay". My thinking being that it might be one more way to send power to something when the ignition is on or the "power" switch is toggled. I was only thinking of allowing 12v through from the batteries via connection 30 and out through 87 on a typical Bosch relay. Sounds like it's not just a simple current going to the the connector.
