How did you do the straps on your MM covers? I for life of me couldn't work tham out? They look great. I see they have changed the design slightly at the back of the seat base where they have done a cut out.
Not sure I have fitted my M&M covers exactly as designed either. How did you do the straps on your MM covers? I for life of me couldn't work tham out?
How are the Tougher covers for occasional use? I was planning to use them only on the messy off-road trips.
Thank you very much for this the covers have been a pain so far to fit a week ago and I've managed to set off an air bag light in the processOkay, here are my tips for the front M&M seat cover installs. The pics below are of the passenger seat, but the process is the same for both sides. Note that I did not select the seat warmers in my build. So, you may need to adjust the routing of the straps as shown in my pics below if you selected those.
1. Hop in the back seat, remove headrest, open up the seat cover, and slide it on the seat, making sure the loose straps don't get too bound up in the cover so that they will be easy to locate and pull later.
2. Position the holes for the two head rest poles, tuck the front side of the seat cover underneath the hole caps, and pull back on the seat cover to snug it in.
3. Pull down firmly on the bottom of the seat cover, which is Velcro lined and attach it to the Velcro along the bottom of the Recaro seat (Thanks, Recaro!). You want this to be a tight fit. If you've done it well, the holes for the head rest will look like this:

4. The loose straps at the back of the seat part of the seat cover need to be tucked down and through the gap between the top and bottom of the seat so that they pop out between the plastic Velcro part of the bottom back of the Recaro seat and underneath the seat. I was able to do this with my fingers, but it is a bit tricky. Here is a pic of the right side taken from behind the seat - the yellow circle shows where the strap pops out from the Velcro bottom section of the Recaro seat:

5. After you tuck both of those straps through, you just pull both forward towards the front of the seat and connect them to the two buckles. You can go ahead and tighten them somewhat, but not to the Hulk Hogan level yet. When running the straps back to front under the seat, be mindful not to pinch or otherwise obstruct wires and cables underneath. You will want to go outside the yellow box. Here's how I ran mine (these pics are from front of the seat - ignore the loose ends of the straps tied together in the foreground - and in the second picture follow the yellow lines for the inside strap):

6. This is a good time to go ahead and tuck in the air bag flap along the right side of the passenger seat so that it fits neatly.
7. Now for the sides of the seats. Start with the right side (the outside near the window). Tuck the seat cover between the seat and the hard plastic trim as shown in the pics in my prior post above. Using a small plastic or wood spatula can really help here - but be gentle and smooth. The strap can be tucked down and through the area where the lever adjust handle sits. You can see it in the gap in this pic:

8. This is again a tricky part, but I was able to get it done by pushing more and more of the strap down until I could see it in the space listed in the pic above. Then it was a matter of reaching from the bottom and pushing from the top until I could snag the strap. If it gets too tricky, you could always unwind a wire coat hanger, make a loop with the hook end, tie the strap to that loop, and push it through or use some needle nose pliers from underneath to grab it. Those options were going to be my back up plan if needed. After you snag the strap, you tuck it back through towards the rear buckle and attach it (pic shows the strap attached and under tension):

9. Now for the inside part of the seat bottom near the center console. This is much easier, since there is no need to tuck the seat cover between any plastic trim. You just route the strap around the outside of the seat belt buckle and attach it to the back buckle. I tried the method of routing it inside the seat belt buckle, but it worked best outside, because that created a straighter pull of the seat cover along the outside of the seat, as shown here (follow the Yellow Brick Road):

10. Time to make small adjustments. Push the seat cover back into the back of the seat with your fingers (i.e., tuck in the section where your butt sits into the back of the seat) and re-check the side air bag flap to make sure it is tucked in well). Then proceed with tightening up all four of the straps Hulk Hogan tight- and recheck underneath to ensure you are not impinging important cables. Newbie tip: the loose ends of the straps need to be pulled in a straight line towards the sewn in origin point of the strap to fully tighten.
11. You are still going to have some poof in the front upper seat section, because unlike Carhartt (cue Angelic Trumpet Sounds), M&M does not use foam inserts in the seat back or bottom to smooth out the poof. Damn shame, but what can you do? Well, you can hop in the seat and start pressing everything down. Test it out, squish it down. Then recheck the pull on your straps to see if they can get any tighter.
12. Take some pics. They will never look this clean again, God willing.*
I welcome any feedback on ways to further improve this install!
