Simples - you adjust the headrest prior to putting on the covers. I've never had the need to adjust the headrest further thereafter.

As to not looking fitted, my Gren's a workhorse not some show piece - the covers fit, don't move around, and do their protection job at a great price. If it were otherwise, I'd be very happy just with the leather.

No worries.
I didn’t want leather to begin with, but bought mine preowned after Ineos mistakenly cancelled my order.
So I bought the covers. Mine too is a commercial used primarily for work.

You might however want to check my previous comment on the airbag question, as the front seats appear to be fitted with airbags in the sides; hence the compatibility issue of aftermarket covers being used on airbag equipped seats.
Your covers won’t be designed to rupture when the airbags are deployed; therefore the bags won’t be able to perform as designed.

I can't remember adjusting my cars headrest since first day.
It is electric adjustment so would be easy.
On the other hand the passenger headrest gets adjusted a lot as my passengers vary from wife at 4'11" and workmate at 6'8"

The Grenadier does indeed have airbags in the front seats. The bags are located in the outer side of the back rests.
This is also why the “Airbag” tags are stitched on the covers, to ensure you fit the correct cover to the corresponding seat. The main reason is that the stitching on the airbag side of the cover is designed to rupture in the event of the bags being deployed.

Therefore I really do not recommend fitting an aftermarket cover if you want the driver and passenger airbags to perform as they have been designed to do so.

Having a strong canvas cover may well throw you out of the seat if the bag cannot deploy properly or freely.

If however you do opt for an aftermarket cover, at the very least ask the vendor or manufacturer if their covers are Airbag compatible, and inform them where the airbags are located on your Grenadier.

Suddenly the astronomical £300 for the front covers makes a little more sense, as they would have had to go through a rigorous testing program to be validated as Airbag compatible.

Doesn’t justify the same price tag for the rear covers, unless they too have airbags in them! Anyone stumped up for a set? If so, is there an “Airbag” tag sewn on to those as well?

Everyone seems to be avoiding the elephant in the room, as Gaston the Grenadier said "Airbag" so you definitely need airbag compliant seat covers it is not an option, slip over non compliant seat covers should not even be discussed. as Gaston said if the airbag deploys, and the cover does not give it could throw you forward and injure or even kill you instead of protecting you.

Fashion over function appears to take precedence amongst a small segment of any market, and ours is no different.

I just hope that everyone truly realises what’s at stake when fitting said aftermarket covers.

Looks like airbags is a big sticking point then. I totally agree.

Thats why I read ALL of the information on my seat cover suppliers website and ascertained that they are airbag compliant.

I assume the big flap down the side of my heavy canvas seat covers is to allow said airbag to deploy !!

A lot of the specialist seat cover manufacturers have probably cottoned on to this, as their livelihood depends on it. Other throw over ones I have had just have a Velcro fastened slit down the sides to allow the safe deployment of the bag.

It’s a very easy problem to solve.

I hope you guys in the USA get one of your specialists creating some nice covers by the time or soon after you start to get your vehicles. I really liked the look of the carhartt ones but they are difficult to get in the UK and they only seem to do the fully fitted ones for the American models.

On another note I really appreciate the canvas covers as they are no where nearly as “sweaty” as the nylon type. I use both and on a hot day the nylon sort get uncomfortable quite quickly. However they win out when it’s really rainy or muddy.

As ECrider says when it gets to that point I will throw one of my HDD on size fits all over the top of my normal cover to save them getting sh*t up.

They are airbag compatible as well.

The best use we’ve found for the Grenadier seat covers is as an extra layer on our sleeping bags whilst camping in these chilly South African evening's. At least we get some use out of them as they wouldn’t stay on as seat covers.

I’ve never had the pleasure of owning a vehicle with airbags fitted to the seats, so became curious about the Grenadier covers having the “Airbag” tag sewn on to them. Now I do!!

I’m also hoping this thread has also made a few more owners aware of the pitfalls in buying cheap(er) aftermarket kit that might actually be dangerous in the event of a collision.

Otherwise I’d suggest the self inflating Thermarest mattresses. Had mine for decades. Still as good as new.

I'm pleased to confirm the very cheap and highly practical Titan front seat covers do have a side slit to facilitate side mounted airbags. They might not necessarily appeal to the fashionistas but are available in 6 colours.

Thermarest were the pioneers in this market and right from the offset, made their mattresses very robust.
I’ve been out of touch with what they’re producing now, and whether their quality is still up to scratch, because my 25 year old double thickness XL mattress has literally never let me down.
I used it all last year as a physio mat too.
