Given the painstaking attention to detailed engineering in virtually all of the Grenadier systems to date, it stands to reason that the practical application of the principles of M. Bernoulli were very much to the fore when the Ineos engineers specified the size, shape and direction of the raised air intake tube. Time and again I've seen all sorts of DIY fabrications and modifications to professionally developed raised intakes... most of which done with lots of hope, scant knowledge and no calibration. I classify them in the same category as perpetual motion machines, "seat of the pants" dynamometers and "Energy Polarisers" . ;-) While questions as to the said design are no doubt reasonable for the inquiring mind... speculation without data is just that! what are the measurements...where is the data?

I think that if you get the. big cyclone one and just use the part that connects the top to half way down the RAI you can fit a normal Donaldson top or scoop if you don't need the huge Trop Spin.
As it takes the profiled RAI tube to circular at the top which is easier to work with if you want to dabble with advanced aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.

that cyclone fitment definitely goes with the function over form ethos

I checked the snorkel, and it is quite hard and decent plastic. I am not a plastic specialist, but I wonder if it is UV (Ultra Violet) proof and won't become brittle after some years of sunshine!

Seems to take a knock without shattering:

If it's taken off and pushed out from the inside, it would be good to know if it just pops back to it's original shape will no real damage.
