My Son took these without my knowledge on the Melbourne Drive day.
Apparently he took them without the knowledge of the Ineos guys either.
Not sure if they are of any help or not.

I hope it’s got a oil dipstick.

Just got a Volvo XC60 and horrified to learn the oil level detection is all electronic 😳

Doesn’t soothe the Luddite in me. 😎

I've chased around the internet searching this dipstick topic instead of oiling my expansive wooden deck hoping the threatened rain does not eventuate .. this is far more important :ROFLMAO:
The fruit of my labour reveals that said diesel dipstick is most likely located  under the large plastic sound shroud covering the engine, towards the rear and to the right hand side. The top of the dipstick may be recognised as a black knob, not the customary yellow. Then again, like "Schroedinger's cat" it might not be

Took 3 photos at Aufenau. I´m still looking for some space to built in a tuned Toot-sound.

That engine bay is packed - doesn’t look like there’s much room to even work on anything.

"No worries"!! Elsewhere on this forum, Globalgregors kindly posted the BMW Training docs for the B57 and B58 engines as  pdf files. They are a veritable mine of useful information.
Now I do confess that at my age I much prefer to absorb the content of such documents over breakfast than read newspapers which just cause grief!
I digress.
On page 32 of the B57 doc which discusses the genius concept of the "Synergy Thermo- Acoustic capsule" (you won't read about this anywhere else but here) there is an illustration of the B57 engine. At the rear rhs of the illustrated engine block is a silhouette outline of the dipstick housing with a red knob/cover. (y) 😉 Who'd have thought?

Yup. When in doubt, at least contemplate checking the instructions.
