I've adopted a certain procedure for maneuvering the Gren in tight spaces like parking lots, etc:
1) Start wide if you can. Pull forward to the last possible place that you can begin your turn. You will learn this distance within a few days at worst.
2) Come to a stop (or almost so).
3) Crank that wheel for all she's worth - like Ahab at the helm.
4) Inch forward into the spot.
If done right you'll even have space enough to straighten the wheel before the bumper is in the bushes. Otherwise it's better to back into parking slots like you might with full-sized pickups. I sometimes throw on the hazards when shifting into reverse. It confuses the Subaru drivers and keeps them from snakin' the spot while you're changing gears.
