AZ Grenadiers January 18, 2025 Tucson Trail Run

I hope the New Year is finding you healthy and happy. We'll be hosting a trail run in the Tucson area Saturday November 18, 2025. Meeting spot will be the Target parking lot on Grant Road and Tanque Verde Road (6500 E Grant Road, Tucson, AZ) There's plenty of room to meet. I searched Google Maps for a good spot with a gas station and room but couldn't find one. There's a Chevron and Costco gas just west on Grant to fill up before we head out. The meeting spot will be along Grant Road. Looks like the parking spaces are rarely used.




We'll then head east on Tanque Verde to the Reddington Pass / Alamo Spring area and hit the trails. I'll pre-run it this weekend and see what it's like since we're getting a bit of weather today. I plan to make a loop around Alamo / Reddington Pass roads. Those from Phoenix could depart east and then north, following South Reddington Road to San Manuel, then back to Phoenix via Hwy 77 / 79 if you don't want to go back through Tucson.

Plan to bring drinks and snacks / lunch. Families are encouraged, as there's some beautiful desert mountain scenery.

I normally would join, but that's a three day weekend for us so we are probably going camping. If you want someone to test it out with you this weekend let me know.

If you can attend, that's awesome! If you can't, I understand it's not a lot of notice and I apologize for that. This is actually our third get-together in AZ and we'll be doing more as we're adding owners all the time.

A friend of mine I saw yesterday said he saw a MM running around Oro Valley this last week. No idea who that is but if you're here, let's hook up for a coffee or whatever sometime!

I'm retired and basically make butt impressions on my couch while binging YouTube every day, so I want to get out and need any excuse!

I'd like to do one of these maybe quarterly, depending on interest. I'm in the AZ Land Rover Club, like a few others here and in the facebook group, so we might have a Landy or two tagging along. One of the older gents who asked to come has decades of off-roading experience and really knows the best trails in the west (I think he's driven them all - he recounted a story of his trip driving to Alaska a few years ago at the AZLRO dinner meeting I attended tonight).

I am in. I will most likely be driving solo.

Not sure what is going on that day but I be there if I can.

I'm going to try and make it, hopefully I'll be able to confirm Thursday or Friday that week. I'll be coming from Goodyear so its a bit of a hike but might plan to do some more driving while down there maybe an overnighter for me.

I will be leaving from Phoenix. If anyone wants to meet up to caravan, please let me know.

I will catch the freeway at 44th Street.

Might take you up on that, if you want pick a gas station and time to meet.

Fuel up before. We can top off near the meeting point.

Off-road fuel range is surprisingly good.

We will figure it out. We are in good hands with our trail guide.

Let me know what time and we would love to join you all as well. we are around the arrowhead mall area. Maybe somewhere Just south of phoenix on I-10?
