Impromptu Get Together Sunday 8/11/24 9AM in Florence, AZ

Open invitation to join us in Florence, AZ for a ride through Box Canyon, NE of Florence. We'll be meeting at 9 AM at the Giant / Speedway gas station on the north end of town.

I haven't been there before, but it seems like a moderate trail with spectacular views. Weather forecast is clear for Sunday, high around 100F, so bring water.
@74CampySuperRecord and I will be there. I have a winch and tons of recovery gear, and extra handheld radios so comms will not be an issue. My wife, Susan will be along as well, so feel free to bring significant others, pets, kids.

As far as I know, once we leave town, there are no facilities anywhere, so pack a snack, lunch, drink, TP, etc.

The route is 30 miles if we take the loop on the map, so plan for 3-5 hours or possibly more.

Well shoot…..we’re camping up in Happy Jack, so unfortunately we will miss this one.

It’s a fun trail, Have fun! If memory serves, there may be a couple of tight spots in the canyon. Nothing to overly stress about though. You should see plenty of side by sides.

just checked out sheep's bridge. it was a fun trip but i wouldn't recommend a full loop. i would go to the bridge via Bartlet lake then turn around and go back the way you came. took us 10 hrs but if we turned around it would be closer to 6 from our home. we do drive slow.
