Why your fuel filler is where it is!

If I pull up to a filling station in France, just as many have right as left fillers, so not really a European thing.
 
Fuel bowser. Never heard that term. Learn something new every day.
 
The amount of people who don’t realise that the side of the car where the filler cap is, is indicated on the dashboard and has been for years.

I didn’t actually know this until about 4yrs ago when my other half pointed it out to me !!!

A really handy bit of knowledge if you drive lots of different vehicles.

You won't find one of those modern aids on my S3 Land Rover. Then again , it's not the sort of vehicle a reasonably sane person chooses to borrow or rent!
The enthusiast though, well he spots it immediately , and proceeds to sit 5 inches above the actual tank..
