There are some good ideas there. I might be able to find some nylon rod and turn something on my wood lathe that would hold up. hmmmm

In a two seater utility wagon (not available in the US), these points are used to secure the top of the cargo barrier (on both sides). The bottom of the cargo barrier being fixed to the battery box (where the rear seat is in a 5 seater).
