Hello, I would like to keep my battery jump box under the back seat...but I would like a USB port under the back seat to keep the jump box charged at all times.
What is the easiest way to install a USB port under the back seat...I know there is a ton of electrical...I figure someone in this group knows the best idea or has already done this.
I used to keep this little jump box in the center console of my Ford Expedition...but this group knows why I can't do this on the Grenadier.

I have a jump box that I put on the charger once every 3 months. It holds the charge and usually down only two bars. Two bars gets me min of 5 jumps.

I would recommend not keeping it on a charge for extended period as it wears out the jumper battery.

I would use a piggyback fuseholder on one of the fuses (ignition live) under the rear seat then use that to power a usb socket mounted nearby.

Use a fuse tap and then connect to this. Or connect to battery bus and add a fuse holder. Both ways will work.

I think I did not understand everything but for an USB port under the back seats I would use the installed 12 V cable that should be somewhere under the seats. If I remember right it should be find somewhere on the left side in driving direction.
This is a vague memory only! But I still think it is true!

I have done a little more research, I plan to locate a 10amp fuse that is only powered when the vehicle is on and use a fuse tap to draw power to a USB port. I agree with ADVAW8S...I think if power is only supplied while the vehicle is on will create a better situation...but I would rather have to buy a jump box more often then ever risk having a dead jump box.
