Hello brains trust. I am new to the space but am very happy to have found so many people here, willing to discuss the ins and outs of this unique vehicle. My situation is this. We have recently purchased a Grenadier with the intention to use it as a tow vehicle for the boat and eventually, a caravan. The vehicle was a dealer demonstrator, and did not have a tow bar fitted during its construction. When we contacted the salesman about potentially purchasing the vehicle we were told that it is "definitely possible, no worries". I called the dealer and asked to speak to him... He is no longer with the company and no one else working there has the same confidence that it is possible. I know this has been faced by many others, and the wiring harness not having the requirements from factory seems to be the limiting factor.

Am I crazy to think that an Auto electrician could make this work?

Thanks for any input!

I’m in exactly the same boat so to speak . Lots of chat saying available 2024, but nothing yet. Seriously, how difficult can it be?! If it’s that much of a problem why are they not just all fitted ex factory, certainly on demos and pre configured vehicles?

It can absolutely be "made" to work as with any other vehicle that does not have a factory tow harness installed.

For the US, the factory harness and module will be available as a dealer installed accessory later this year or in early 2025.

For MY25 all US vehicles will be fitted with the module so that the harness can be easily added without any need for programming/recoding
