So I picked up an 'other' G last night - a GX550 Overtrail+. I had originally ordered a TrialMaster that hit the dealer in January '24 - but ended up walking away given issues that my wife and I saw around creature comforts and some gremlins during my first drive. Over the last 9 months - Ive kicked myself everyday for not buying one while I was searching for other vehicles. The Lexus was my #2 choice; picked this one up at a dealer and think it gives my wife the comfort riding in on the road, while hitting the 'almost a Grenadier' off road which checks off my boxes.

Thanks so much to my many friends I've met here for all your support over the multi-year journey; looking forward to seeing you out on the trails!

I saw a Lexus GX550 the other day for the first time in Brisbane on Tiesday.
It didn’t look as bad in the flesh as I thought they would.
Not wanting something as big as a 300 or patrol, it would have maybe been on the list if I hadn’t bought the IG.
Good luck with it.

Congrats. The GX550 was also my number 2 choice. I test drove it a couple weeks ago, and it's definitely more comfortable and better than I had expected despite being smaller than I had hoped. But I'm happy with my Gren! Wishing you many miles and smiles.

Having wheeled an lx470 for years, I'm sure it's a better car than this... just lexus boring. Which is a good thing in a lexus way.

Let's face it - they can be about as exciting as the interior of a Maytag Washer. The IG dealership for me was about 1-1.5 hour drive. Lexus dealer is 6 miles from the house - so that made a bit easier if something goes bump in the night.

Lexus makes a fantastic vehicle. I drove an LX470 for 240,000 miles before selling it in perfect operating condition. It ended up being the cheapest car I ever owned. Cost of ownership was very basic maintenance - brakes, tires, occasional timing belt.
My Grenadier feels equally sturdy but - a little more style, a little more capable.
Congrats!
