They don't sell any touch or dual color lights in the US. I just checked.

The dual colour also has the added benefit of a on/off touch switch on the front of the light which is really handy if you want to add a second light into the circuit and be able to switch them independently. Also means you don’t have to go inside the car to switch it off. Worth it over the standard version if you can find a source to buy it. Here is the Micro Touch Dual Colour mounted on the side.

The wire on the light is quite short. I ordered a roll of basic twin core wire from Amazon (think it was 2.5mm or 3mm core), cut off the connector on the light and spliced it into the existing cable, soldered the join and then covered with heat shrink. The join sits behind the light, this allowed me to cleanly run the wire behind the rubber gutter corner piece. Put a DTP plug on the other end to go into the roof socket.

I did not want a plug connection between the light and the roof socket to keep the wire run as clean and unobtrusive as possible.

Here are pics of the wire run. It would not be that hard to run it internally and exit near the roof socket, might try that at another time.

A DIY sleeping platform/storage solution ive been slowly working on over the past few weeks. Not finished yet, but coming along nicely, especially for not knowing much about woodworking before attempting this

Figured I would post an update now that I've finished this little project. Nothing fancy, but works for what I will use it for (until I inevitably fall into the trap of buying a rooftop tent... ) and was much cheaper than the aftermarket solutions out there.

The drawer sticks a little, but if I pull hard enough I don't notice it. Might add some sort of material on the back of the top panel at some point, instead of leaving the plywood exposed. Maybe some sort of rubber material so you could set things on top and have less sliding around.

Been tinkering around…..

1. Added some LED lighting in foot wells front and rear. Controlled by overhead INT 1 switch. I can change colors and intensity via mobile app. I keep it at the lowest level.

2. Swapped out to the Supra shifter. It was a very easy changeover. I bought mine from a Toyota dealership in Canada / got the last one in the Canadian warehouse apparently.

3. Added external Noco inlet for 120v power that goes to my Victron charger / power supply located under the rear seat. I leave the truck for up to 2 weeks at a time and like to keep the batteries on trickle. Also very handy at some campgrounds when running the fridge and things overnight. I can attest the the rear bumper is made from some serious steel! Took quite a while to drill through! Thank you very much to @anand for the good intel on how to ingress into the cabin.

I have a similar setup but higher with the seats folded the other way. In my configuration the space between bed and ceiling is unpleasantly tight but the sleeping platform is longer on the other hand. How long is it in your bild effectively?

Just had this epiphany... isn't the interior light on when you're trying to put the key in?? Only if set to come on auto. It doesn't really illuminate the key slot very well. Probs with glow in the dark is a few hours after dark it fades. Unless you get the radium ones from Russia.

Letech ladder installed. But still need to order the rubbers/seals to close the gap around the fixation tubes. As there was no ladder installed out of the factory, there where just plugs covering the holes. I love it. More functional then only a ladder.

A simple mod for short and long term cargo storage, which is how I work my travel trips, trip by trip, add or subtract...I am setting off to a poultry show on Friday and will staying at Inglewood Queensland for two nights with wife and friends, so a bit of gear and six birds. It is a simply install having had the shelf from a storage system to use for this purpose.

The repurposed battery boxes with the right amount of ventilation will carry one bird each [Old English Game]. They are supported by the shelf and fixed in postion by shortening the straps and pulling up to the shelf above to make the cargo stable...what I'm liking is this can be used for multiple reasons which suits your trip by trip packing...the straps go from the back of the top self under the bottom self to the front of the top self.

I have used the old crates for years being light, strong and stackable, couldn't believe how they fitted the Gren and when the back seat is laid down the crate height is the same, so now I am working on a simple foldout board for sleeping and simple removal. A different crate for all circumstances, cooking gear and then the beer crate and so on.

You would now the territory, from the Sunshine coast, Kilcoy run then along the Summerset Dam to Esk then Gatton to Pilton great roads. Through to Clifton, Leyburn then Gore the Cement Mills and onto Inglewood.
And thanks anything can happen at a chook show but always fun and if not we will make some
