We decided to utilise some space in the roof to keep pillows and other light bulky stuff. There is a 6 mm threaded hole in the forward brackets for the dog guard (which we have no interest in). I drilled a hole in the plastic panel and fitted eye bolts to this location. Then a stainless-steel wire and turnbuckle to the eye bolts. My partner sewed a piece of light weight outdoor upholstery canvas to take the wire and side elastics. Eyelets were fitted across the rear. Carabiners were used to secure the rear edge to the front of the KAON rear roof shelf (SKU 0788). There is easy enough room for a couple of pillows and more. The eye bolts will also take coat hanger or two if you need. You may notice the exercise machine handles to assist entering and alighting the vehicle. They also provide a panic handle for rear seated passengers!

Well done!

For those of us that want similar storage and aren't as DIY adventurous (myself, I'm speaking of myself specifically), Blue Ridge Overland Gear makes an attic for the Grenadier, although it was a limited production run (they have a history of restarting limited runs with enough interest)
