Reservation # Ledger

As suggested on the "October Reservations Opening Up Thread" Our reservation Ledger Could look like this.

1. 00052627XX   Confirmation.   900006XX   Invoice.    30/09/2021.     Stu_Barnes. 
2.  

"Please post your reservation Confirmation number and Invoice number if you wish to be included together with the date the invoice was issued in a UK format, ie DD/MM/YYYY. On a new post, the originating post will be updated."

If people don't wish for this information to be out there in the public domain then chime in, we can either have this section of the forum exclusively for members or not have a Ledger for the reservations at all. 

I'll put up a poll on this closing Sunday at midnight BST, the balance of the group takes it. 

Feel free to put your opinions below, if we decide to put this together the subsequent conversation can be removed leaving this thread purely for reservation details.

I think the invoice  number may be the most accurate between that and confirmation number. How about recording invoice numbers on their own? 
What’s the point?

Well if we get a small% signing up then through the spread we should have very rough ball park figures for orders based on the highest invoice number submitted, that’s assuming the accounting dpt is more stringent in its numbering system of course. 
Thoughts?

Agree on all counts.  My guess is the invoice numbers are more closely tied to order sequence than the confirmation number.  By tracking either or both over time, we'll get a feel for how many reservations have been submitted, and can reason about delivery times based on comments in the recent BTGLive event which gave initial year and full capacity production numbers for global and some regions.

Playing devil's advocate here, but isn't reservation number the number we received to put a order in.  If we look at the verbiage, the reservation number allowed us to order.  Then you see, we got a confirmation number once the order was completed.  Finally, we got an invoice number when we received our receipt.   I agree that the reservation numbers are random, but a company needs to have a system in place to track orders.  A randomized set of numbers for invoices would create chaos as you could track problems in build or even where you are in orders.

I do sort of like randomized chaos though. If I didn’t I wouldn’t drive a Land Rover off-road…

Curious if any recent reservations would post some numbers to see if a sequence could be deduced.  We placed a deposit within about 2 hours and it was in the 00052626XX range which could mean the gent above with a0005274908 above would be 12, 300 reservations later.  I did see a few on the defender forum with numbers in the low 100's.  The bigger issue is how many of these are for the US market which gets their cars 9 months or more later.  I they send over a boatload to the US, my hope is that mine is on the first boat. and that any bugs or gremlins are worked out in the 9 months before they start shipping here.

I certainly hope that they get some of the early production gremlins worked out by the time the make it to the USA, but there should be relatively few considering the testing they are doing, at least Im hopeful of that. If they do deliver vehicles that are full of teething problems and gremlins then they could be in some hot water.

I think this is one product that has to be very good from the start, and hopefully it is.

   Planning on getting one for me and one for the wife instead of a G Wagon to replace her 2000 LX470 daily driver.  Mine is more for off roading and boondocking.  G Wagons are impossible to get here due to supply chain issues and high additional dealer markups due to demand.  Both will likely cost what the G wagon would have cost me.
