I see a few stray comments about owners getting together. Since so many of us are still waiting on our trucks, dealing with early production woes, figuring out important upgrades like bigger tires, avoiding the first scratches and dents, I imagine it will be a little while. I myself would like to consider a Colorado/ Utah event in 2025. This forum parameter says its for Ineos or dealer sponsored events. But I do not see another good spot to start planning strings for this sort of thing. Can we do it here, or should we have a different board?

Awesome, I am doing a Utah trip this spring with the Montero group, but they want to hit some harder stuff near Moab. For Grenadiers, I was thinking of something overlanding style next year, with some challenge but nothing to serious that would damage our new rigs. One thought is to try the Rim Rocker trail from Montrose Colorado to Moab, which I have not done since its completion. Then take off from Moab south. Maybe Lockhart Basin, to Lavendar Canyon, over Elephant Hill through the Beef Basin district to Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon. That is probably a solid 10 days. But I would be open to ideas. I have some bad experiences with the Colorado to Utah attempts to the north, but further south and using an actual bridge vs fording the Dolores river, and missing the clay should make it a snap.

PRE MOAB RALLY OVERLAND TRIP:
I see several people here share my interest in an actual Grenadier overlanding trip. The wife and I are going to the October Moab rally, BUT I’m considering starting on the previous Sunday at the Arizona border and doing the South half of the BDR ( or similar ) to get to Moab for the rally. Anyone else interested ?

It would be everyone totally self supported, with some prior experience required, cooperative group mindset, and no limits on who shows up or what their tire size is. Nobody makes a buck, no entrance fee. Just a proper adventure among friendly owners. We drive after breakfast, help each get through obstacles, camp when the sun gets low, cocktails and lies by campfire, repeat til Moab.

This is just my rough idea for camping under the stars before Moab and I’d like to hear if anyone is interested in tagging along?

Just FYI, Elephant Hill and some of the other trails in Canyonlands, require a back country permit. I know they limit group size to 3 vehicles on Elephant Hill, and only so many on the trail in one day. Unless it has changed recently.

I was thinking the BDR skirted canyonlands to the east. I’ll check my map when I get home

I have no idea about that. I was adding that info based on Mountain 4x4’s post of January 16th where he mentioned taking a group over Elephant Hill. Sorry for the confusion.
