I put too much weight on the passenger’s seat today and the seat belt alert triggered. The fix is easy, I plugged in the passenger’s seat belt and left the weight on the seat.

I do not know the trigger weight, but probably around 4-5 kilograms. It was my fridge platform when it was secured down, that triggered the alert.

That's what happens with most cars

Never in mine, they are too old.

Having an automatic is new to me. I always drove manual cars, until the Grenadier.
I have had a variety over the years
Manual
  • three on the tree
  • 4 & 5 speed column shift
  • 4, 5 & 6 speed floor shift
  • Fiat 500 LHD floor shift in Sardinia and Sicily
  • Fiat Panda LHD floor shift in Southern Italy
Auto
  • 3 speed column Hydramatic
  • 3 speed push button
  • 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 speed floor/consol shift
  • Paddle shift
Semi auto shitbox Lotus.

I learnt to drive on a Ford Falcon Station wagon column shift.

In my driving test I pulled out onto the Hume Highway and the first thing I did was overtake a slow truck in front of me. I was about 30 seconds into the test. I decided to show the examiner I knew how to properly overtake - he knew I would never stay behind such a slow truck anyway. I made sure he saw me checking all my mirrors and over my shoulder.
