I thought this may be of interest:

Interesting ~ I think we've already seen a forum member with this issue.

I knew it affected those with the auxiliary battery (as it's partly the same space) but I didn't realise it also affected those with the high load switches. Referring to the winch option seems redundant, as you can't select it without the high load switches?

Thanks for posting. 👍

I think this is a better photo of the space with the box missing:

@Arkaig:

Where did you find this bulletin?
Are there others to find regularly?

"the Advanced Speaker System (only relevant at MY24)" sounds like there is an audio upgrade coming in '24.
USA is getting MY24 addition. I wonder if it will be included. I think Ineos was like USA customers are kinda like Divas, we need to add these luxuries to compete.

Think that means a sub in that spot?

Quite possibly. Where else would you fit one, if it was to be added.

Seems a bit daft under a seat if they didn’t put electrics in that location in case of water ingress.

I suppose they could relocate the jack and use the back panel where it’s currently stored. Under the seat would be odd, but then again, Jeep used to stick them in the console.

I think they could easily build a sub and have it sit onto the wheel arch where the fuel filler is. Square that area off - it’s a useless area with that heavily angled area anyway.

I was planning on adding a sub / amp setup anyway, we'll have to see what 's available. Also, I wonder if there's any provision for Advanced Speaker System WITH the Aux. Battery / Winch setup? Again, we'll know in 3 weeks.

Maybe the plan to put a subwoofer in this space.

Yep, having 5 speakers in / above the dash now (9 all up), things will be a little timid in the IG. But I’m sure we’ll all find a solution. I don’t need a bigarsed subwoofer though - my doof doof days are long gone.

Fortunately we may see some solutions come from our Euro brethren before we need to take action.

Have you seen the dB levels?

No.
300tdi Defenders are noisy. I fitted DoDo mat throughout the cab and you can hear yourself think now ... :giggle:
My Hilux also benefitted from matting under the rear seats and up the rear bulkhead reducing the road noise, especially when running through puddles or over gravel.

Have you seen the double door seals?
I doubt there is going to be any trouble with water getting in
It's not the door seals but all the holes in the floor pan...
